The Best Small Class C Motorhomes of 2026

BIGGER ISN’T always better when it comes to motorhomes. Many RVers choose a small Class C motorhome for more campsite options and easier maneuverability. You can book smaller national park sites or get in and out of busy cities. And yet, even in smaller packages, these best Class C campers provide everything you need for an enjoyable experience.

Key Takeaways

  • Optimal Maneuverability: These compact Class C motorhomes (all under 27 feet) offer the “best of both worlds,” providing the amenities of a larger RV while navigating busy cities and fitting into smaller national park campsites.
  • Budget-Friendly Versatility: Generally more affordable than Class A or Class B models, these floor plans cater to solo travelers and couples, as well as small families, with some models sleeping up to six people.
  • Functional Design: Despite their smaller footprint, these units maximize space through clever features like cabover bunks, convertible dinettes, and slide-outs, ensuring essential comforts like full kitchens and bathrooms are never sacrificed.

What Is a Small Class C RV?

Class C motorhomes generally range from 22 to more than 40 feet long, but average around 30 to 35 feet. At the shorter end, our picks for the best small Class C RVs are all under 27 feet long.

These compact motorhomes are typically less expensive than Class A and Class B RVs, making them ideal for RVers on a tighter budget. Whether you’re looking for a small space for a weekend couples getaway or a larger motorhome to entertain friends, shorter Class C motorhomes offer something for everyone.

Our Favorite Small Class C Motorhome Floorplans

Our favorite small Class C motorhomes are under 27 feet long. They include a cabover area for sleeping or additional storage, a rear bedroom, and a central eating and lounging space. Let’s take a look at our top picks.

Jayco Redhawk 24B

Specs

  • Length: 26’8”
  • Chassis: Ford® E-450
  • Engine: 7.3L V8
  • GVWR: 14,500 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 5

The Redhawk 24B features a queen bed and a U-shaped dinette in a driver’s side slide-out, a full bathroom across from the bed, and a full kitchen across from the dinette. The slide-out makes this small Class C motorhome feel more spacious than its 26-foot length. Whether you travel alone, as a couple, or with your furry friend, you won’t feel cramped.

The kitchen has a 10-cubic-foot fridge, a residential-size microwave, a stainless steel sink, and a 3-burner cooktop. While the corner bathroom is compact, it has the basic amenities: a medicine cabinet, a sink with storage underneath, a toilet, and a shower.

My favorite feature is the storage capacity. There is a large rear wardrobe in the bedroom, another one in the hall between the bed and the dinette, and overhead cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. The wardrobe in the hall could be used for camping gear, kitchen gadgets, food, towels, and more. Plus, there is a dedicated pantry for even more storage.

Thor Freedom Elite 19HE

Specs

  • Length: 20’5”
  • Chassis: Ford (19HEF) or Chevrolet (19HEC)
  • Engine: 7.3L V8 (Ford) or 6.0L V8 (Chevy)
  • GVWR: 11,500 (Ford) or 12,300 (Chevy) pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 3

At barely over 20 feet, the Freedom Elite 19HE might just be the best small Class C RV without a slide room. The large U-shaped dinette along the back wall converts into a sleeping area at night. During the day, you’ll enjoy a spacious dining area for playing cards, eating, lounging with a book, or hosting a nightcap with friends.

If you’d rather not deal with the conversion, you can sleep in the space above the cab. Or, if you need two separate sleeping areas, you have them. There is a television at the foot of the cabover bed, and it’s mounted on a swivel arm to maintain visibility from the dinette.

The kitchen includes a 12V fridge, a 2-burner cooktop, a convection microwave with an air fryer, a stainless steel sink, and a flip-up countertop for extra meal prep space. And to maximize space, there’s a wet bath across from the kitchen.

Specs

  • Length: 23’10”
  • Chassis: Ford® E-450
  • Engine: 7.3L V8
  • GVWR: 14,500 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 5

The College Avenue 2201S features a rear queen bed in a slide-out, across from a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The sink is outside the bathroom, next to the fridge, which is convenient when one person showers or uses the bathroom while the other washes their face or puts on makeup. Some small Class C motorhomes omit the bathroom sink entirely, but this layout eliminates the need to go to the kitchen to wash hands or brush teeth.

A combo wardrobe/pantry sits across from the fridge, so you can use it for food storage, clothes storage, or both. It’s a nice-sized space with a hanging rod for clothes. Next to it is the booth dinette, which converts to an additional sleeping area if needed.

My favorite part is the kitchen, which has a 3-burner cooktop, a residential 12V fridge, a microwave, a sink, and a flip-up countertop for meal prep. This College Avenue motorhome also has solid surface countertops, which is a luxury among small Class C motorhomes. While it’s a small space, it’s luxurious looking and feels residential.

Specs

  • Length: 24’1”
  • Chassis: Ford (21EBF) or Chevrolet (21EBC)
  • Engine: 7.3L V8 (Ford) or 6.0L V8 (Chevy)
  • GVWR: 12,500 (Ford) or 12,300 (Chevy) pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

If interior decor is important to you, the Eddie Bauer 21EB is an excellent small Class C motorhome. The green cabinetry and gold handles make you feel more like you’re in a small apartment than in an RV. In addition, the shower has a marble-like finish, giving it a high-end feel while remaining highly affordable for a small Class C motorhome. Even the step-up from the kitchen to the bedroom creates another “apartment-like” feel.

The rear bedroom has a full corner bed next to a full bathroom. This is the only motorhome on this list with a full bed. A 76” Dream Dinette® sits across from the kitchen, which has a 2-burner cooktop, a microwave, a sink, a 12V fridge, and a flip-up countertop extension. And the cabover space is a second sleeping area that is just as spacious as the rear bed.

Forest River Forester LE 2151S

Specs

  • Length: 24’6” or 25’
  • Chassis: Ford (2151SF) or Chevrolet (2151SC)
  • Engine: 7.3L V8 (Ford) or 6.0L V8 (Chevy)
  • GVWR: 12,500 (Ford) or 12,300 (Chevy) pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6

The Forester LE 2151S features a rear corner queen bed next to a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The sink sits outside the bathroom, which is nice when two people are trying to get ready in the morning or evening. This keeps the bathroom from feeling cramped when two people are using a relatively small space.

The driver’s side slide-out features a wardrobe and a U-shaped dinette. Across from that, the full kitchen offers a 12V fridge, a circular single-basin sink, a convection microwave, a 3-burner cooktop, and a flip-up countertop extension. The slide-out expands the interior for kids or pets while maintaining easy flow between the kitchen and dining area.

To me, it’s one of the few small Class C motorhomes on this list that’s truly fit for families. The central living area is spacious enough for three or four people, and the U-shaped dinette can comfortably seat a family. With three sleeping areas—the rear queen bed, the convertible dinette, and the cabover bunk—there are cozy resting spaces for everyone.

Jayco Redhawk SE 22TF

Specs

  • Length: 24’8”
  • Chassis: Ford® E-350
  • Engine: 7.3L V8
  • GVWR: 12,500 pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4

If you prefer a low-maintenance, slide-free floor plan, this Redhawk SE 22TF has everything you need. There is a 48” bench with a removable table behind the driver’s seat for eating or working, and a full bathroom next to it. Although small, the bathroom has ample counterspace and a built-in medicine cabinet for toiletries.

The kitchen has a 12V fridge, a 2-burner cooktop, a convection microwave, and a stainless steel sink. Like the bathroom, the kitchen has good counterspace, especially for a compact motorhome under 25 feet long.

But the twin bed option in the rear is my favorite feature. There is a step from the kitchen up into the bedroom, making it feel elegant and separate. The 38” x 75” twin beds convert to a king bed if you prefer. But not many RVs offer twin beds, so this makes the 22TF unique among small Class C motorhomes.

Thor Coleman 19CX

Specs

  • Length: 21’3”
  • Chassis: Ford( 19CXF) or Chevrolet (19CXC)
  • Engine: 7.3L V8 (Ford) or 6.6L V8 (Chevy)
  • GVWR: 11,500 (Ford) or 12,300 (Chevy) pounds
  • Sleeping Capacity: Up to 3

Finally, the Coleman 19CX has one of the most unique small Class C floor plans on this list. My favorite feature is the spacious central seating area. Two opposing benches line both walls, and removable tables sit in front of both. The benches can be used as two small beds or seamlessly converted into a full-width single sleeping space. That begs the question: Is the cabover bunk the main sleeping space, or is this?

While the 19CX doesn’t have slide-outs and is shorter than most of the other small Class C motorhomes on this list, it still has everything you need in the kitchen: a 12V fridge, a 2-burner cooktop, a convection microwave with an air fryer, and a stainless steel sink.

The kitchen area is small, but the ample seating is the selling feature—and of course, there’s a rear wet bath and solid wardrobe closet.

Honorable Mentions

  • Coleman 25EZF – A small Class C motorhome with the twin-to-king-bed option.
  • Forester LE 2351C – A slideless motorhome with a rear corner queen bed and a U-shaped dinette.
  • Sunseeker LE 2150SC – A large slide-out opens up the interior space, and the large U-shaped dinette creates great space for families.
  • Spirit 22M – A single slide-out with the rear bed creates a more comfortable bathroom.
  • Minnie Winnie 25B – The only motorhome on the list with a sofa and a dinette.

What Is The Smallest Class C RV?

Class C motorhomes range from around 20 to 40 feet long. The smallest options will be 20 to 22 feet, like the Freedom Elite 19HE and the Coleman 19CX. Other Class Cs under 22 feet include the Redhawk SE 20LF and the Four Winds ESpec 19Z.

But length isn’t the only aspect to consider when searching for small Class C motorhomes. If you want to tow a vehicle behind the motorhome, you’ll also want to know the hitch weight rating. For example, the Freedom Elite 19HE and the Coleman 19CX can tow up to 8,000 pounds. But the Redhawk SE 22TF and the Forester LE 2151S can only tow up to 5,000 pounds.

What Length RV Will Fit in a Parking Space?

A standard US parking space is between 8 and 9 feet wide and roughly 18 to 20 feet long. While a stretch, that means that the smallest Class C motorhomes from brands like Coleman and Freedom Elite can fit in these spots. They’re wider than average trucks, sedans, and vans, however. So you’ll need to be careful.

In our experience, we suggest researching Class B vans, the smallest options for drivable RVs, if you’re looking for the easiest RVs to navigate in and out of tighter parking areas.

Class C motorhomes offer all the necessities for a comfortable camping experience at a more affordable price. While Class A motorhomes provide more luxury and Class B camper vans are more compact, Class C RVs are the best of both worlds.

Whether you’re a solo traveler or a family of four or more, you’ll find a small Class C to suit your camping needs!
