Texoma Travelers 2026 Spring Rally

Mountain View, Arkansas, known as the folk music capital of the world, offers humble people, gentle mountain terrain, and spirited music!

It proved to be a great pick for our clubs’ spring rally, with 56 Leisure Travel Vans from 16 states (from New York to New Mexico) all converging in the pristine air and on the lush, green-treed property that makes up the Ozark RV Park & Cabins.

Our Wednesday-to-Sunday stay kicked off with a meet and greet in the park’s event center, affectionately known as the Pickin’ Shed. The Shed boasts retro photos of famous folk bands and music industry legends. It also became the spot where we picked up not only snacks but full meals (think juicy pulled pork sandwiches, tender chicken, sides, and the like) along with incredible desserts throughout each day and night.

Thursday, our first full day at the campground, offered an optional foraging experience among the park’s trees and greenery with a local guide who has foraged all over North America. This soft-spoken, informative fellow taught us how to identify wild plants and medicinal herbs that dot the vibrant Northern Arkansas area. As an alternate choice, others had the chance to explore downtown Mountain View’s Main Street and shops. We closed the day by putting on our best smiles for a group photo, and followed that with a private buffet dinner and club meeting at the Folk Center restaurant.

It’s not RVing if you’re not exploring, so Friday offered up lots of time to again visit downtown, or a chance to find your rhythm by checking out the Ozark Folk Center State Park, located within walking distance and right behind the park. The Folk Center—with its grand gift shop and courtyard of artisanal booths with talents in handmade copper goods, soaps, textiles, and the like—nestles up to a theatre where musicians both practice and entertain, and it’s not the Texoma Travelers if we’re not eating, roasting, and toasting each other! We ended the day with a delicious dinner of smoked meat sandwich meals and then gathered around the community fire pit to enjoy our new ‘roast yourself and a marshmallow’ event with s’mores kits and the telling of funny stories (what happens on the road stays on the road).

Saturday gave us a chance to sleep in and ease into the day by either relaxing at our sites or visiting any local area we chose. Then, in the early afternoon, we held an owner’s roundtable Q&A session, which gave other seasoned LTV folk a chance to present on subjects they are well-versed in. Additionally, Josh McBryde was on deck during the meeting (and our entire stay) to answer technical questions and work on any LTV coach.

We truly ended the rally on a high note, with not only an incredibly curated dessert bar from local cottage bakers but also a private folk concert by Pam Setser and her buddies, known as ‘The Granny Chicks.’

These ladies’ voices, banjo and guitar pickin’, and musical talent on many different instruments literally filled the night air and our hearts with festive and alluring songs! It was easily one of the most memorable nights our club has had in its history.

We sure picked a good one for our Texoma Travelers 2026 spring rally!
