Southwest Roadrunners 2026 Winter Rally

We had a great time at the end of January when the Southwest Roadrunners Travelers Club met at the Oasis RV Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, for our annual winter rally and club business meeting. We had 104 coaches registered this year, a record, with many new and familiar faces. We love getting together every year for this opportunity to spend time together learning about and enjoying our LTVs!

Day One

One goal we had for Oasis this year was to try some new things! From buttons to round tables, we wanted to make the rally about finding new LTV friends, learning how to better maintain and upgrade your coach, and sharing our collective experiences of RV travel. We hope it was mission accomplished for everyone who could join us, and if you couldn’t, then we hope to see you next year. We kicked off the first night with a social hour and catered taco bar, a raffle, and a fun mixer to help us get to know each other better!

Day Two

A full day of LTV maintenance talks. From Henderson’s Lineup talking about Sprinter suspension upgrades, to a panel with the LTV service managers, Van City RV’s service manager, and a Mercedes master technician; and maintenance round tables on subject matters like Hookups 101, Electrical Needs & Solutions, Starlink, Pulling a Toad, Kitchen Organization, Exterior Maintenance, Winterizing, Tires, and more. Then we capped off the day with time together in the delightfully warm winter weather—thanks, Vegas!

Day Three

Our annual business meeting allowed us to update the club on the activities leadership undertook in 2025 and share some of our goals for 2026. We did more roundtables today, allowing our members to share some of their expertise with each other on topics like “Don’t Leave Home Without It,” Long-Term RV Travel & Living, Travel & Bird Photography, Joining the Elks Club, Hosting Rallies, Travel Apps, and we were joined by app creators of Active RV Life, plus more. We enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich lunch together, provided by SkyMed, while we learned more about their emergency medical transportation services.

Van City RV brought in new coaches for our members to tour, and some of our members opened up their own coaches for tours, too. We had special-interest group meetings, including the Wendy Uncles Memorial Book Club, the Single Travelers Group, RVing with Pets, a Recipe Exchange, and more. Finally, the day ended with Gordon’s annual movie night, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Day 4

Every day of the rally, we kicked off with coffee and donuts provided by Van City RV—what a treat! Feeling stuck on where to go in your LTV? We had roundtables for travel destinations, too. We talked about doing the Fantasy RV Tours in Alaska and the Maritimes, and just about every state, including Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, the Carolinas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, New England, the Canadian Maritimes; and traveling down the Mississippi too!

We had a choose-your-own-fun-adventure with pickleball, mini golf, or bingo, and we ended the day with a good old-fashioned spaghetti western dinner (a hybrid of catered pasta, potluck salads, and dessert—yum!) and a costume contest, which some of y’all really showed up for.

Day 5

Time to pack up and say “until next year, partner!”
