HEY, Gordon Ramsay, are you ready to hit the road? Front kitchen travel trailers are the perfect RVs for 5-star camping chefs. They prioritize more counterspace, better appliances, and increased storage for fancy ingredients and spices. This travel trailer floor plan is a favorite of mine, so let’s explore some of the best travel trailers with front kitchens in 2026.
Key Takeaways
- Chef-Centric Layouts: By shifting the kitchen to the front, these RVs offer more counterspace and residential-grade appliances while keeping the cooking zone separate from the living area.
- Smart Space Optimization: From hidden walk-in pantries and “peninsula” prep stations to washer/dryer prep, these travel trailers with front kitchens focus on clever storage that reduces clutter and makes the interior feel more spacious.
- Versatility for Every Traveler: The best front kitchen campers range from ultra-compact 21-foot trailers for solo adventurers to massive 36-foot triple-slide “homes on wheels” designed for full-time living and maximum comfort.
What Is a Front Kitchen Travel Trailer?
A front kitchen travel trailer floor plan places the kitchen forward of the living, dining, and sleeping areas. This layout allows manufacturers to design impressive kitchens with expanded counterspace, larger cooktops, and a more residential feel.
Front kitchen campers also keep the cooking space separate from the rest of the floor plan, making it easier for anyone who isn’t the chef to move about without getting in the way.
For those who value cooking on the road, a front kitchen travel trailer might be the perfect RV. This layout offers everything you need to feel like a gourmet camp chef, giving you the freedom to bring your camp culinary masterpieces to life.
Our Favorite Front Kitchen Travel Trailers
Compare these front kitchen RV models based on your travel style, tow vehicle, and preferred length. Here are our favorite travel trailers with front kitchens:
Forest River Campsite Ultra 26BW
Specs
- Length: 30’3”
- Hitch Weight: 985 pounds
- Dry Weight: 6,923 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,062 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4
The Campsite Ultra 26BW is a couple’s dream front kitchen travel trailer. Everything about this RV is designed to make you feel comfortable and at home.
Let’s start with the fact that it comes standard with a camp king bed, a luxury for any RVer and a big selling point for me. It also includes a really spacious bathroom with dual entry from the bedroom and the entertainment area. The bonus is that it’s not a walkthrough bathroom like some other RVs on the list.
In the kitchen, my favorite feature is a massive front window that lets you take in the views wherever you are. The kitchen is a standard L-shape with ample counterspace.
Another standout feature is the hidden pantry behind the entertainment center. Little conveniences like that seem simple, but they upgrade your RV experience. I’m the type of person who wants storage that doesn’t look like storage. It reduces clutter in an already tight space. Hidden solutions like the pantry make a big impact while maintaining functional space.
Overall, this Campsite Ultra is a great option for couples. At just over 30 feet, keeping the dry weight under 7,000 pounds is pretty impressive.
Keystone Cougar 25FKD
Images by Camping World
Specs
- Length: 29’11”
- Hitch Weight: 945 pounds
- Dry Weight: 7,300 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,500 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6
The Cougar 25FKD is a nice front kitchen travel trailer for a small family or a couple who want more space. This RV is just shy of 30 feet and includes many great features.
The walk-in pantry is the real standout in the front kitchen. I’m a fan of abundant kitchen storage on the road, and this is perfect. If you aren’t an on-the-road master chef, you can repurpose the pantry as additional hidden storage. My one hang-up in the kitchen is the corner sink. Corners are hard to work with in any space, but this creates some unusable dead space behind the sink. I’d much rather have traditional L-shaped counters.
While it comes standard with a queen bed with nightstands, you can upgrade to a king. Remember, you’ll lose the nightstands with this upgrade, but this bedroom has a full wardrobe and storage above the bed to make up for it.
Another thing that isn’t my favorite is the walk-through bathroom. I’d rather not walk through my bathroom whenever I need to get from the front to the rear of my RV, but it’s not a deal-breaker. I understand the reasoning, as it allows for a larger shower and a split design that lets one person shower while the other uses the toilet or vanity area.
Overall, this front kitchen Cougar packs an enormous punch for a travel trailer under 30 feet and is an excellent option for the small family on the go.

Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite 2608BS
Specs
- Length: 29’8”
- Hitch Weight: 902 pounds
- Dry Weight: 6,876 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,826 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4
The Rockwood Ultra Lite 2608BS is another great front kitchen travel trailer for couples. It’s under 30 feet and comes with many great amenities, a cozy interior, and some really nice extra touches.
Some of my favorite features of this travel trailer are the smart kitchen storage options. The solid wood cabinets and soft-close drawers reduce noise and add touches of luxury. The stepped-down countertop extension is an odd choice, but not overly disruptive when you are using the space.
In the bedroom, the queen-sized bed has a decorative headboard and windows with privacy and blackout shades on each side. The mirrored wardrobe has enough space for hanging and folded clothes. The bedroom also features a fully closing door instead of a privacy curtain.
While you can choose the hideaway bed option, standard theater seating offers a cozy spot to watch your favorite movie while enjoying the 5,000 BTU electric fireplace. From the finishes to the layout, it’s no surprise this Rockwood Ultra Lite travel trailer with a front kitchen is a hit with couples. It would be a top contender in my books.

Forest River Rockwood Geo Pro G20FK
Images by Camping World
Specs
- Length: 21’2”
- Hitch Weight: 619 pounds
- Dry Weight: 4,217 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,278 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4
Ultra-compact and light, this small front kitchen travel trailer is perfect for RVers who don’t want to tow anything over 25 feet. The Rockwood Geo Pro G20FK is a newer double axle addition to the Geo Pro family and delivers all the performance you’d expect from a front kitchen camper—just in a smaller package.
Forest River keeps this floor plan tight to make sure all usable interior space is optimized. It comes with a queen bed, a small bathroom with a decent shower, a sofa with a removable dining table, and, as promised, the front kitchen.
While you can technically sleep up to four, this is better suited to a solo traveler or a couple. The 26” x 80” pull-down bunk over the rear queen bed feels cozier than I would prefer for my sleeping quarters.
Many RV manufacturers opt for a convection oven/microwave combo for tighter layouts. I like that Forest River kept the traditional gas oven in this layout, along with a microwave. It gives a bit more versatility when on the road.
If you want something ultra-light and compact but with everything you need for extended stays, this Geo Pro might be the best small front kitchen travel trailer in 2026.
Jayco Jay Feather 26FK
Specs
- Length: 33’10”
- Hitch Weight: 955 pounds
- Dry Weight: 7,090 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,610 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4
With washer and dryer prep and a bedroom dresser, the Feather 26FK is an excellent couple’s camper for those looking for extra space in the rear bedroom, along with some full-time camping upgrades.
Jayco also offers the option to upgrade to a king-size bed, which is always preferable. The kitchen features the InVision
suite of appliances, including an 11-cubic-foot black glass-front fridge. Oversized cabinets and full-extension drawers also allow you to store more.
Some of this RV’s technical workings are also impressive, most notably the 60,000 BTU tankless on-demand water heater. You can camp confidently in less-than-ideal weather, knowing that the Jay Feather includes the Climate ShieldTM zero-to-100-degree-tested insulation package.
It looks like Jayco removed the mega-lounge upgrade for this year’s Feather 26FK, which was a standout option in 2025. However, you can opt for freestanding table and chairs instead of the booth dinette.
Compare the more compact Jay Feather 24FK.
Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite 2523MBR
Specs
- Length: 25’10”
- Hitch Weight: 710 pounds
- Dry Weight: 6,313 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,397 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4
Trust that Forest River will always have something in its lineup that just blows me away. The Rockwood Mini Lite 2523MBR is a small travel trailer with a front kitchen, topping out at just over 25 feet and 6,000 pounds. It’s compact and road-ready.
Here’s what I love about this model—the rear bathroom. Having the bathroom in the rear avoids the awkward “pass through” powder room and allows manufacturers to use the full width of the RV, creating more room for linen storage, a larger shower, and more space around the toilet.
The bedroom in this RV also includes a wardrobe with washer and dryer prep, a dresser with an optional TV, and a spacious queen bed in a slide-out room.
But step into the front of this Rockwood Mini Lite for my favorite part! The wraparound kitchen with a countertop peninsula is a showstopper. Plenty of space for prep, and the peninsula lets your sous chef prep ingredients from the other side of the counter, keeping them out of your way. Can we get a “Yes, Chef!”

Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite 2619FK
Specs
- Length: 29’8”
- Hitch Weight: 825 pounds
- Dry Weight: 6,813 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,812 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4
While we’ve already covered multiple great Rockwood campers with front kitchen floor plans, these next two really stood out to me, specifically for extended trips or full-time living. The first, the Rockwood Ultra Lite 2619FK, has everything I would want as a 24/7 road warrior. Here’s what makes it better suited to that RV lifestyle.
With dual entry doors, you can wake up and step outside immediately for some fresh air. Do you truly need two doors in a travel trailer under 30 feet? Not necessarily, but it ensures you still have access to the central bathroom when all the slide rooms are retracted.
What I love is that the front of this travel trailer feels segmented. Forest River put extra counterspace behind the Dream Dinette®, which acts as a barrier to partition off the kitchen while adding extra working surfaces. This also increases the amount of drawer storage and cabinets!
In lieu of an entertainment center, Forest River includes a large TV on a lift that stows behind the dinette when not in use. You can opt for a hide-a-bed sofa if you want to sleep extra guests, but I’d stick with the theater seats.
I know we talked about dual entry being a boon for this RV. But to make this more livable, I would swap it for a larger closet with washer and dryer prep. Other than that swap, this is a fantastic RV that can give you some extended, comfortable time on the road.

Forest River Rockwood Signature 8263MBR
Images by Camping World
Specs
- Length: 29’11”
- Hitch Weight: 1,022 pounds
- Dry Weight: 7,655 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 2,210 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 2
The second (and it’s my favorite of the two!), the Rockwood Signature 8263MBR, just has more. More cargo capacity. A larger king bed standard. More sinks in the bathroom (Hi, dual vanity sinks!). The only thing it doesn’t do is sleep more than two people.
The front kitchen is a wraparound with a peninsula that extends the working surface and allows barstool countertop seating instead of a traditional dinette. The plush theater seating provides the ultimate spot to relax and watch a movie.
The bedroom has a sliding door for full privacy, a wardrobe with washer and dryer prep, and a dresser with a TV mount above it. Steps away, the spacious rear bathroom includes dual vanity sinks and a massive 48” by 30” residential-style shower.
This Rockwood Signature front kitchen travel trailer really is a showstopper for someone looking for a luxury home on wheels that still comes in under 30 feet.
Winnebago Thrive 26FKD
Specs
- Length: 30’11”
- Hitch Weight: 950 pounds
- Dry Weight: 7,470 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,330 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 6
Winnebago combines its reputation for excellence with the affordability of the Thrive 26FKD travel trailer. This is an ideal front kitchen camper for a small family of four.
The kitchen includes large countertops, a pull-out trash and recycling bin, two pantries, a 10-cubic-foot fridge, and a panoramic front window. This means you have views, storage, and enough space to get your “Top Chef” on.
If you have kids, choose the tri-fold sofa that converts easily into a sleeping area. But what makes this RV great for families is the bathroom. With entrances from the bedroom and the living room (without a pass through), it offers accessibility and privacy. The 66” x 80” Olympic queen bed provides a comfortable retreat in the rear bedroom.
Another bonus of a family-friendly setup is that this RV includes dual entry doors into the living area and the bedroom. If the kids want to sleep in, you can easily step outside for a morning walk without walking through the middle of your travel trailer.
Although this Thrive RV technically sleeps up to six, I think it’s a better fit for a family of four.
Forest River Flagstaff Classic 832FK
Images by Camping World
Specs
- Length: 36’10”
- Hitch Weight: 1,295 pounds
- Dry Weight: 9,474 pounds
- Cargo Capacity: 1,821 pounds
- Sleeping Capacity: Up to 4
With three slides, the Flagstaff Classic 832FK is the dream front kitchen travel trailer for anyone who wants to live full-time on the road.
At the front, you have a large kitchen and entertaining area with a central island and a massive residential fridge. You get theater seating across from the entertainment center and a second couch perpendicular to it. Sit down for a meal at a dinette with bench seating and chairs. When it’s time for work, just pull a chair over to the pull-out desk by the fireplace.
The rear has a king-size bed, a bathroom with a full shower, and a washer/dryer-ready wardrobe. You can set up for quite some time with 54 gallons of fresh water storage, a 53-gallon black water tank, and a massive 131-gallon gray water storage capacity.
The finishes make you feel at home, with deep gray cabinetry, pendant lights over the island, and a feature headboard behind the king bed. In addition to the Rockwood standouts above, this would be one of my top front kitchen RV candidates if I were planning to live full-time on the road.
