This cute little piece of history is located in Montrose, Alabama. If you love old historic places, you will want to take a few extra minutes while on Scenic Hwy 98. It would be worth the time to stop by to see this Historic Montrose Post Office.
It is located between Fairhope and Daphne. A historical marker explains the history of the building. The beauty of the area and its towering live oak trees make this little building picturesque.
Montrose is a community. It was originally known as Sibley City. This name honored Cyrus Sibley, an early landowner in the area. Later the name was changed to Montrose in honor of Montrose, Scotland. This post office first opened under the name Montrose in 1879.
